Here are some outtakes from my ongoing assignment with the TeachersCount’s ad campaign, “Behind Every Famous Person is a Fabulous Teacher.” This time we photographed Minnesota Timberwolves forward-center Kevin Love with his high school math teacher, Scott Buchanan. We shot on location at the NBA headquarters in NYC, and as you can see we didn’t have much room to work with. A 6-foot-10 basketball player can easily make a room look very small.

The latest magazine issue of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs hit the news stands this week and features six images I took of Liliana Gil (including one on the cover). We had about an hour with her – not bad for a magazine shoot. Liliana has quite a resume: co-founder of XL Alliance (a marketing and strategy firm in NYC), host of last year’s Miss Dominican Republic US pageant, covered the Grammy Awards for Fox News and also red carpet coverage for the People’s Choice Awards. She’s also a correspondent to CNN, MSNBC and Fox News Latino on marketing issues. And she was named one of the top Young Global Leaders by the World Economic Forum. It was a great hour of shooting. Liliana and her staff were a pleasureto work with!

The Firm

Who said lawyers don’t have fun? Last week’s assignment was to take personality photos of 50 lawyers – in two days. It could have been quite daunting, but these folks were great to work with. One even took advantage of yours truly during a quick light check. A lot of fun was had by all.

Best In Show

This past August I was on assignment for Animal Planet photographing champion dog breeds. While many of the 146 dog breeds we photographed were unique, like the Pharaoh Hound, Puli, and Xolo, there were a few that completely fascinated me. Take the Pekingese, for example. Not big, nor fast (actually very slow) with long hair and big eyes – but it had something everyone loved. And for that, it won best of show.

At the Westminster Dog Show this past week, Malachy was one of the many dogs entered. When you’re up against a Dalmatian, a Doberman and Irish Setter in the final judging I doubt many gave him a chance. But he prevailed! Congratulations to Malachy and owners David Fitzpatrick and Iris Love.
