I personally don’t have allergies, but I find it inspirational when I meet someone who refuses to let food allergies hold them back. Meet Cara Kelly an 11 year old who, despite being allergic to peanuts, tree nuts. sesame and soy, lives her life to the fullest. Karate has been a huge part of this by teaching her resilience and showing her that she can indeed travel in spite of her food allergies. To prove this she traveled to South Carolina and won two gold medals at the USA National Karate Championship and Team Trials.
These photos were taken for Allergic Living at her dojo, the Ultimate Martial Arts and Fitness center in Lynbrook, NY.
The Redhead Project has gone viral! We recently had the honor of being interviewed by NBC Charlotte about The Redhead Project. As big thank you to Andie Judson, digital producer at WCNC-TV in Charlotte, for stopping by the studio to interview and video us during the photo shoot.
The video (link below) has been viewed on WCNC-TV’s Facebook page over 847,000 times and was picked up by NBC, ABC and CBS affiliate stations around the country.
Once again we were honored to be part of this year’s Puppy Bowl XIV presented by Animal Planet. During the three days of shooting we photographed 92 puppies, a few ducks, three pigs, a sloth, and one piano playing chicken. Below are some of the stars of this year’s competition. Here are the Starting Lineups. Watch all the fun on Animal Planet Sunday, February 4 starting at 3pm.
In between Redhead Project shoots I took a morning this past week to photograph Kristen Klein in Vero Beach. Kristen is an amazing competitive barefoot beach runner with over 50 medals to her name. It was nice to finally feel the sand between my toes after a long three days in the studio.
Had a great two-day photo shoot with 14 Savannah redheads. Many laughs and a lot of props – pickles, cotton candy, swords, Rescue Randy, pointe shoes, snow, to name a few. Take a look at some behind-the-scenes images on @ProjectRedhead. We’ll be posting more images both here and on social media soon.
The Redhead Project is heading South. We start this weekend with a two-day shoot in Savannah then travel to Vero Beach, FL for a three days of redheads. From there we’re off to Atlanta, Charlotte, DC and Philadelphia. Look for behind-the-scene shots on Instagram – @projectredhead and @keithbarraclough
