The North Fork

It is an absolutely beautiful day here in NYC – 65°, bright sunshine and people are walking around without jackets.  Quite unusual here on the east coast.  Today reminds me of a mid-September day my wife and I spent on the North Fork, Long Island at Corey Vineyard: clear skies, a nice soft breeze and a tall glass of red wine.  It was a great way to end the summer.

Fishing in Montauk

Kate and I spend this past weekend on eastern Long Island.  No agenda or rush to get anywhere — just a peaceful getaway.  The longer I live in NYC, the more I’ve come to appreciate these mini vacations.  Our first stop was Montauk.  The fog and the distant echoing of the foghorn lent an eerie peacefulness to the morning.
