Recently worked with MR Magazine photographing Lord & Taylor and Hudson’s Bay SVP of design for menʼs private brands Peter Rizzo. As is usual with magazine shoots we had only 10 minutes – and it was 7:30am. Thankfully the Lord & Taylor staff had the set built the night before.
As a portrait photographer, I always look forward to these year-end “best of” galleries.
I couldn’t have said this better myself:
“These and the other portraits that make up this LightBox gallery remind us that, as powerful as the grand gesture might be, it is often the quiet, unfiltered gaze of a fellow human being that makes for the most intense, and the most revelatory, of all pictures.”
It’s not often that my photos get published in a Chinese magazine, so this was kind of special. Published in the April Anniversary issue of Glamour/SELF China, the story is about entrepreneurs who are living their dream jobs. My assignment was to photograph the Blanchet Flower Shop in the West Village. What was actually written, however, remains a mystery to me. Here’s the tearsheet.
The latest magazine issue of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs hit the news stands this week and features six images I took of Liliana Gil (including one on the cover). We had about an hour with her – not bad for a magazine shoot. Liliana has quite a resume: co-founder of XL Alliance (a marketing and strategy firm in NYC), host of last year’s Miss Dominican Republic US pageant, covered the Grammy Awards for Fox News and also red carpet coverage for the People’s Choice Awards. She’s also a correspondent to CNN, MSNBC and Fox News Latino on marketing issues. And she was named one of the top Young Global Leaders by the World Economic Forum. It was a great hour of shooting. Liliana and her staff were a pleasureto work with!
